Life in the Balance

It’s already the second post and I am suffering from writer’s block. We’re a few days into the new year, the Christmas stuff is still up and I am really ready to move on from the holiday season. It was crazy. I started a new job at AAA and it’s up in Costa Mesa. I had started my own Design business a few years ago and it just wasn’t pulling in enough monkey. I had been looking for work for a while and one of my main requirements is that i didn’t want to commute. Funny how that worked out… my commute is 1 1/2 both ways. As my dad said, “we can get used to anything”. That begs the question on whether we should settle for anything. I say no but I do need to work and having a job is better than no job. This is a short-term solution. However I will say that the people are really nice, there is stability there and lots of directions I could go… options are nice.

I guess this post is about doing what need to be done in the short-term to obtain long-term goals. You never know where the baby steps take you. Having a goal helps you stay the course of the direction you want to go. My end goal is to provide for my family, have a career in graphic design, and maintain a healthy balance.
